Whale Shark (Butanding) in the Town

Few days ago until today, Legazpi City peeps are in frenzy with the news of Butanding sighting along Albay gulf. My sister and I joined the crowd and it was a fun afternoon. More than anything the people are really excited for the Butanding that made the ordinary day to a special one. It was a great feeling of a good guest visiting a friend's home. Ignoring the strong waves, the people fearlessly peeped at the breakwater to have their good view of the free slow moving filter feeding shark. I went home still a little wet from the sudden splash of the sea waves and still with a smile on my face. When I went home, this event reminded me of the following quote: When the Last Tree Is Cut Down, the Last Fish Eaten, and the Last Stream Poisoned, You Will Realize That You Cannot Eat Money. ~  Obomsawin We were lucky that these sea creatures visited our seas although it's already polluted with the troubling floating plastic. I do hope we can help protect them. And see more...

Jeongeupsa : A Wife in Waiting

I'm hooked watching the new Korean saeguk daily drama "Soo Baek Hyang". It was full of comedic scenes making it not your usual saeguk. I'm starting to have an LSS to the theme song which I even searched for the title before but finally someone also got interested and shared about it. The theme song of the drama was  Jeongeupsa which is a folk song in Korea.  Jeongeupsa is the oldest song written in Korean, in which a wife prays to the moon for the safety of her husband who left home for trading.

Ithaca: a poem for a mindful traveler

As a traveller, “Ithaca” is one of my favorite poems. When I read it, I would visualize  some of the places that I have been to– the airports, the sea ports, the trains, the jeepneys... the public markets, the bus stops... the loneliness, the fears, the fun... The journey was a long one, mine may not have been one continuous but it was all so worthwhile... to one day  understood by then what Life means. Solo biking in Angono ITHACA , C. P. Cavafy  (1910, 1911) As you set out for Ithaca hope that your journey is a long one, full of adventure, full of discovery. Laistrygonians and Cyclops, angry Poseidon-don't be afraid of them: you'll never find things like that on your way as long as you keep your thoughts raised high, as long as a rare sensation touches your spirit and your body. Laistrygonians and Cyclops, wild Poseidon-you won't encounter them unless you bring them along inside your soul, unless your soul sets them up in front of you. Hope that your jour...

HaveYouSeenThis? About Wattpad's HaveYouSeenThisGirl...

Sunday Inquirer Mag October 2013 Not very long time ago, I tried looking for Diary ng Panget at Wattpad. I was intrigued that I wanted to read the book since its been around friends and acquaintances' mouths. Eventually, I wasn't sure if it was the real one or it was another imitation that I found that day. I just couldn't sleep so I was looking for something funny to read. I didn't finish the story. I forgot since I was busy finishing some other American classic books (I downloaded from Project Gutenberg). But probably I will try checking the bookstore for the hard copy and give it another try. Now the media and then more news about the book are coming up. A movie adaptation is coming soon on theaters next year. Of course, there's a little envy around the neighborhood, and inspiration to others. I too, I am wishing I was friend of this HaveYouSeenThisGirl or at least this quote was mine: “What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done...
